Well, "cheers to you mate!" say my ovaries, for making it through to the promised land. How nice of you to write down your friends in other labs, like the fungus lab, who make life bearable ^^ If you don't mind having a very uncool friend come over from the labless 어학당, maybe we can have lunch and then look at fungus or do a Pap smear, or both at the same time. Thanks for your humor and insight.Jane Jeong Trenkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01121816864466563629noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31385473.post-21841726409653465052010-05-24T12:47:02.915+09:002010-05-24T12:47:02.915+09:00Hey Lee, its Damien hope everything goes well for ...Hey Lee, its Damien hope everything goes well for you, see you next time you come back to AustraliaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31385473.post-46937997512678615772010-05-03T22:14:50.244+09:002010-05-03T22:14:50.244+09:00Hi Lee,

I'm sorry that you've had to experience the dark side of the Korean psyche though...what a horrific encounter, especially realising that there will be no official condemnation of that man.
I'm glad you're not giving up! However, based on my experience, it is usually Korean professors bullying their master and Ph.D. students (often using military-style micromanagement techniques).

I wish you all the best with your future research career!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31385473.post-49252858265959815192010-04-30T00:19:50.812+09:002010-04-30T00:19:50.812+09:00Thank you to everyone for your words of support.Thank you to everyone for your words of support.Lee Farrandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06405103217824096934noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31385473.post-47597176715735567542010-04-30T00:13:47.403+09:002010-04-30T00:13:47.403+09:00Lee, you're the author of one of my favourite ...Lee, you're the author of one of my favourite blogs and I have always enjoyed your always interesting and often humourous posts on Korean life.

Was not expecting such an intense read. Just wanted to send some encouragement your way - I actually just switched thesis labs in my fourth year and can sympathize (my ordeal was pretty painful, though it didn't involve choking...). I'm in a much happier place now and think it was totally worth it to go through the whole ordeal. Grad school is hard as it is, no reason to suffer in a miserable environment on top of it. I'm sure things will work out for you as well - not to mention that cancer biology will have more broad applications compared to your previous work (And it will be easier to get funding for it down the road). All the best,

Davemisterheehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12294625728376346365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31385473.post-3152806961537513632010-04-29T01:20:07.101+09:002010-04-29T01:20:07.101+09:00Wow, good luck Lee.
